Moving Policy

Planes Moving & Storage was selected by the Military to service your relocation. It is our responsibility to explain the Military’s relocation policy. Any special services you require during your move process must be authorized directly through your Planes Counselor, according to the Military guidelines.

What moving services the Military will pay for:

• Packing
• Loading
• Delivering
• Unpacking, no maid service
• Storage up 90 days
• Up to 18,000 lbs. if you are a Civilian Employee.
  • If you are a Commissioned Employee then your weight entitlement is dependent upon your rank. (See Weight Entitlement page).
• Full Replacement Coverage ($4.00/lb. up to $50,000)

Moving services that need to be authorized by the Military:

• Any additional pick-ups or deliveries, in the origin or destination city.
• Shuttle or Auxiliary Service
• Storage over 90 days
• Carton Deliveries
• Crating of any high value articles.
• Servicing of any articles in your residence, e.g. Grandfather Clocks, Waterbeds, Pool Tables, Hot Tubs, Exercise Equipment, Swing Sets, etc.
• All bulky articles that do not have a weight additive
• Storage at origin
• Long mile delivery out of storage
• Waiting Time to hold shipment in Vehicle.
• Lot access

Moving services that are not authorized by your Military Agency:

• Boats (any kind with a trailer)
• Automobiles
• Overtime for packing, loading or unloading
• Pulling your belongings out of the attic, disassembling or reassembling any items required to load properly in the truck or get out of the home, e.g. waterbeds, basketball hoops, satellite dishes, swing sets, playhouses, etc.
• Disconnecting anything permanently attached to the premise. This includes anything that is bolted or screwed in the walls, e.g. mirrors, shelving units, icemaker lines and washer/dryers.
• Moving belongings from temporary residence to permanent residence.
• Debris Removal in lieu of unpacking.
