Outdoor Equipment

Please review the Gypsy Moth Information under the Important Forms tab. This information will let you know if your county is infected by Gypsy Moth and what steps you need to take in order to move any outdoor items.

Hot Tub

• Drain the tub and remove all plumbing.
• The carrier will charge a special handling/shipment fee that requires authorization from the Military.

Swing Set / Play System

• You will be responsible to disassemble all outdoor items for safe transportation. If you are unable to disassemble or reassemble these items, notify your Planes Counselor so they can give you price for a company to do it for you at your expense.
• Please note that your swing set or play system may require some structural reconfiguration at your destination home if the space and grading of the property is different from the origin location.
• It is normal for wood to warp once a play set or play system has been disassembled. Replacement of warped wood and/or rusted hardware would not be covered under the transit policy.

Lawn Mower / Gas-Operated Lawn Equipment

• Drain gas and oil and clean thoroughly.
• Large lawn tractors may require special approval according to your company policy.

Lawn Furniture

• Must be clean and inspected for any insects.
• In some areas of the country, in order for Outdoor furniture to moved, the furniture must be inspected for Gypsy Moth. Look under forms for the current areas infected by Gypsy Moth and the form you are required to have complete prior to moving.

Plants

• Acceptance of your houseplants with your shipment is at the discretion of the van operator.
• If the van operator does agree to transport houseplants, the van operator will not accept liability for, or responsibility to service your plants en route, regardless of any type of delay.
• Federal and state regulations may require houseplants to be inspected and certified to ensure they are free of disease.
• Your Planes Counselor must be informed of any plants you are moving and can explain any applicable state restrictions, i.e. California, Arizona, Florida, etc.
